Privacy Policy.

At Colour Name Finder, we believe privacy is a fundamental human right. Our application is designed from the ground up to operate as a local-first utility.
1. Client-Side Image Analysis.
When you use the "Analyze Image" tab to upload or drop an image, the image is loaded strictly within your local browser sandbox using HTML5 Canvas API. The pixels are scanned and color palettes are computed 100% locally on your machine.
Your images are never sent, uploaded, or transmitted to our servers or any third-party APIs.
2. Camera Scanner Stream.
The Camera Scanner function requests access to your device's camera using the standard web getUserMedia API. The frames from the stream are projected onto a local hidden canvas to sample the center pixel's hex value.
We do not record, save, or transmit your video stream. As soon as you click "Stop Camera" or navigate away, the camera stream tracks are completely closed and terminated.
3. Local Storage and Inspection History.
We use local storage (specifically localStorage) to save your recent color inspections list. This data lives exclusively on your local device and is used to render the "Recent Inspections" panel.
You can clear this history at any time by clicking the "Clear All" button in the history panel, which deletes the corresponding local storage key instantly.
4. Zero Cookies and Tracking.
We do not set tracking cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics trackers, advertising networks, or social media tracking pixels. Your session is completely anonymous.
5. Contact Information.
If you have questions about this privacy posture, please reach out to us at team@colournamefinder.com or using our Contact Page.
